Where does your strength come from?
Lately, I have been feeling discouraged and tired like I am holding the weight of the world on my shoulders...
Every week at our bible study we pass around a container full of verses and each pull a verse to read. Last Friday night I pulled this verse & read out loud to our group. Immediately, I said "Amen!"
On Sunday after church I went up for prayer. A sweet lady on the prayer team gave me this very same verse, but this time I surrendered all my burdens to God. As my tears gently just rolled down my face, I could feel the pressure lifting. I could feel God lifting them from my heart & mind.
Somehow I found myself feeling overwhelmed again...my second marriage, our blended family, all of my children. Even prayers and knowledge were even starting to weigh me down as I tried to focus on fixing everything myself .
As I looked into this verse deeper. My strength comes from GOD, and being content is having a strong relationship to Christ. My weakness provides God the opportunity for the display of His power. I can't fix everything but God can! I need to keep stepping out in prayer and speak faith over my family & He will give me His strength.
Philippians 4:13
"I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
